Partitioning Multiple-Chain-Like Task Across a Host-Satellite System

چکیده
We propose an algorithm to improve Bokhari’s method for partitioning multiple-chain-like tasks across a host-satellite system. The time complexity of our algorithm is reduced from the time complexity O(m’n log max(m, n)) of Bokhari to O(mn log max(m, n)), where n is the number of satellites and m the number of modules in each of the II chains which must be partitioned between a satellite and the host.

Prediction of slope stability using adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system based on clustering methods
Slope stability analysis is an enduring research topic in the engineering and academic sectors. Accurate prediction of the factor of safety (FOS) of slopes, their stability, and their performance is not an easy task. In this work, the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was utilized to build an estimation model for the prediction of FOS. Three ANFIS models were implemented including g...
متن کاملTask Allocation in Distributed Multimedia Systems based on the Host-Satellite Model
Multimedia applications require intermediate processing between media sources and sinks. In addition to end-user machines intermediate computers can be used for performing media processing. This possibility leads to the problem of allocating processing components on various computers. In this paper, we study this problem in the context of star-shaped application graphs which have to be allocate...
متن کاملPartitioning Methods and Algorithms for Configurable Computing Machines
(ABSTRACT) This thesis addresses the partitioning problem for configurable computing machines. Specifically, this thesis presents algorithms to partition chain-structured task graphs across configurable computing machines. The algorithms give optimal solutions for throughput and total execution time for these problems under constraints on area, pin count, and power consumption. The algorithms p...
متن کاملDevelopment of a novel lot sizing model with variable lead time in supply chain environment
Supply chain management (SCM) addresses the management of materials and information across the entire chain from suppliers to producers, distributors, retailers, and customer. The theory of supply chain management suggests that lead time reduction is a pioneer to the use of market mediation to reduce transaction uncertainty in the chain, which can be conceptualized as the primary goal of supply...
متن کاملMultilevel Models for the Distribution of Hosts and Symbionts
Symbiont occurrence is influenced by host occurrence and vice versa, which leads to correlations in host-symbiont distributions at multiple levels. Interactions between co-infecting symbionts within host individuals can cause correlations in the abundance of two symbiont species across individual hosts. Similarly, interactions between symbiont transmission and host population dynamics can drive...
